Taking part in the NovuHub Beta
NovuHub is pre-release software. These terms cover what that means in practice: what may change, what may break, what we do with what you report, and how beta access ends.

Draft — not yet in force. 4 points in this document depend on facts that could not be established from the project and are marked below for review.
What the beta is
The NovuHub Beta gives you early access to the NovuHub desktop application and the NovuApps built on it, before they are released.
Access is granted by approval of a request, not by purchase. It is not part of any plan, it does not change what you pay, and it can be ended independently of your Novu Account and of any subscription.
These terms apply in addition to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Where this document is more specific about pre-release software, this document applies to the beta.
Pre-release software changes
Beta builds change. Features are added, altered and removed; interfaces are redesigned; defaults change. A capability present in one build may be absent from the next.
Changes may be incompatible with earlier builds. Data written by one beta build may not be readable by a later one, and a migration path between beta builds is not guaranteed.
There is no service level for a beta build: no uptime commitment, no response time, and no guarantee that a given build remains available for download.
- Do not rely on a beta build for work you cannot afford to lose.
- Keep your own backups of anything you put into it.
- Expect to reinstall, and expect to lose beta-local state when you do.
Defects, data loss and your own backups
Beta software contains defects that have not been found yet. Some of them lose data. That is the ordinary condition of pre-release software rather than an exception to it.
You are responsible for your own backups. NovuHub is local-first, which means the primary copy of your work is on your own device — and it also means a defect on your device can affect that copy.
Legal reviewthe warranty position for pre-release software, and how it relates to mandatory statutory warranties and consumer rights in each market served. This cannot be derived from the project and is the one clause a beta programme most needs to state correctly.
Legal reviewthe limitation of liability applying to beta participation, and its interaction with the limitation in the Terms of Service. The two must not contradict each other, and neither can be drafted without a decision on the governing law.
Feedback and reports
Reports you send through the application reach us as feedback: a description, the application and version it came from, and whatever diagnostic detail the report itself carries. What a report contains is described in the Privacy Policy.
Feedback is used to fix and improve the software. You are not required to send any, and taking part in the beta does not oblige you to report anything.
Legal reviewthe rights granted in feedback — whether submitting a report licenses its content for use in the product, and on what terms. A beta programme usually says something here, and nothing in the project records what it should say.
Confidentiality
Legal reviewwhether beta builds, unreleased features and anything visible in them are confidential, and for how long. Nothing in the project states a position, and the answer changes whether a participant may write publicly about what they see.
How beta access ends
Beta access can end in three ways: the programme closes, your membership reaches an end date, or it is withdrawn.
Ending beta access does not touch your Novu Account. You keep the account, your plan, and the data on your own device; what stops is access to beta builds and to the beta download.
A withdrawn membership does not remove software already installed on your device, and it does not delete anything you created with it.
Your account and these terms
Your beta participation is tied to the Novu Account that was approved for it. Beta access is not transferable, and the invitation link that creates the account works once and only for the address it was sent to.
If these terms change in a way that changes their meaning, you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing to take part.
